Bone, joint & nerve pain

FAQs for joint, back and nerve pain care

Common questions about homeopathic care for sciatica, arthritis and nerve pain.

Frequently asked questions

Should I stop my painkillers or nerve pain medicines if I start homeopathy?

No. Continue the medicines you have been prescribed. Homeopathic care is planned alongside them. Any change to a prescribed medicine should be made only with the doctor who prescribed it.

Can I continue physiotherapy?

Yes, please do. Exercise and physiotherapy are an important part of managing joint and back pain, and homeopathic care is planned alongside them.

Do I need an X-ray or MRI before I book?

Not always. Bring whatever reports you have. If your symptoms suggest a test is needed, for example with leg weakness or pain after an injury, we will ask you to discuss it with your doctor.

My doctor has suggested surgery. Can I try homeopathy instead?

Please do not delay a surgical opinion because of homeopathic treatment, especially if you have weakness, numbness or bladder or bowel changes. We are happy to see you alongside your surgeon’s advice, but the decision about surgery belongs with them and you.

How long does treatment take, and how often are follow-ups?

This depends on the problem, how long you have had it and your general health. Response varies from person to person, and we cannot promise a particular outcome or timeframe. Follow-ups are used to review your pain and adjust the plan.

Can an online consultation work for joint pain?

Much of the assessment depends on your description of the pain and your reports, which can be taken online. Where a physical examination is needed, we will tell you so and ask you to see a doctor in person.

Is rest better than movement for back pain?

For most ordinary back pain, staying gently active is better than long bed rest. Avoid heavy lifting while it is painful, and follow the advice of your doctor or physiotherapist.

Can I choose a remedy from the medicines page?

We advise against it. A remedy is chosen after a full assessment, and the descriptions on that page are only for information. A partial match is unlikely to be suitable.
